Our story 🌶🐊
Our father, Wayne Hebert, started his seasoning journey prior to 1985, when he and our mother, Karen, owned their first small business, Twin Oaks. What first started as Wayne's All Purpose Seasoning soon became the legacy we continue to carry on today.
As time went on, Wayne and Karen soon took over her parent's small family business, Early's Food Store. When this small family business grew into Scott's very own supermarket, The New Early's Cajun Supermarket, our parents realized that in order to keep up with the catering orders and the endless meatcase of pre-seasoned and ready to cook cuts, a practical, cost-effective, all-purpose seasoning was a no-brainer. So, in 1985, Wayne's All Purpose Seasoning was transformed into N.I.C. - "Now It's Cajun" All Purpose Seasoning.
Wayne found that our culture and the flavor of our cuisine demanded this seasoning be bold, yet not alter or conceal the flavor of the meats or seafood to which it was being applied. He designed this seasoning to have a lower, yet adequate, salt content for a more practical use.
Regardless of your cooking skills, we are sure you will find our seasoning the fastest, easiest, most consistent, and economical way to flavor your meals.
And the rest of that, folks, is history!
Dad’s legacy lives on, not just in the bold and distinctive flavor of his seasoning but in the heart and soul of our family. We’ve grown from small-town roots to serving kitchens across the country, but one thing has never changed: our commitment to quality and the love we put into every bottle.
Our father’s legacy is not only in the seasoning, but in the lessons he taught us: the importance of hard work, family, and always staying true to our roots. As his girls, we’ve made it our mission to carry on his dream, sharing the flavor that started it all with the world. Whether you’re grilling or frying, making a gravy, courtboullion, or a roux, we hope you feel the same sense of pride and satisfaction that our family has felt for decades.
From our family to yours—thank you for being a part of this journey and for keeping our father's spirit alive in your kitchens. We look forward to many more years of sharing his seasoning with you, just as he shared it with us.
So, here’s to the memories, to Dad's vision, to family, and to the unforgettable flavor that’s stood the test of time.
